Our Guide to Inverter Cooling

Are you in the market for a new air conditioner? Well, you can always get in touch with one of our team members to talk about the right budget, preferences, and system that would fit your home. But it can always be helpful to start off doing your own research into the various different cooling systems on the market and how each one differs from the other.

This blog post is going to discuss one of the lesser-known AC models out there, the inverter air conditioner. While these systems aren’t as expensive and comprehensive as a heat pump, they’re more affordable and one of the more energy-efficient models we install. If a central air conditioner is still your model of choice, then at least give us a chance in describing how inverter air conditioners work, and why they might be great for you.

Then, once all is said and done, you can get in touch with us to schedule an AC installation in Orlando, FL.

How an Inverter AC Works

Inverter air conditioners are about the same size and of a similar cost to central air conditioners. They’re just a bit more complicated because the inverter part of the system is in charge of moderating the cooling power so it can lower or increase the speed to match the desired output.

What does this mean? An inverter air conditioner runs at different speeds, saving energy and costs.

The inverter AC uses a microprocessor to change the speed of the compressor’s motor. This can increase the speed so that the system cools down your house faster, like when you initially turn it on. Or, it can turn the motor down, so the system is focused on keeping your home cool without shutting down completely. An inverter air conditioner gets to function at specific levels so your home is always using as little energy as possible while still staying cool.

The Benefits of Inverter Cooling

Here are just a few reasons why an inverter cooling system might be perfect for your home. Remember, they’re not going to be for everyone, but for many customers looking for an affordable yet energy-efficient system, they can be perfect.

  • Affordability. Inverter air conditioners are still technically central air conditioners, so they cost less than other, more technologically-advanced systems like heat pumps and ductless mini splits. If you’re on a tight budget but still want to get an efficient cooling system, an inverter AC might be a good choice.
  • Increased energy efficiency. An inverter doesn’t have to start up and shut down on a regular basis, which means it gets to save energy and costs less to run per year.
  • Whole home comfort. Yes, an inverter air conditioner will still cool your entire home. So if you’re upgrading from a set of window AC units, you’ll be impressed by the output of this unit.
